This route has great climbing up a steep wall. Start just left of the

NW Face's

10a, first pitch corner. Follow 3 or 4 bolts up and left to a crack, which continues to angle left eventually leading to a bolt anchor and some tat. It is possible to continue into 2nd pitch of

Start on NW Face of the Dome, at the right=facing corner. There are two variations: 10a and 5.8+.

P1: Either climb the slanting, right-facing dihedral with tough pro (10a) or climb the flaky, blocky 5.8+ to the right of the dihedral. They end at the same stance.

P2: Traverse left 25 feet. You can link this with the last pitch. Belay at the base of a wide crack (5.9).

P3: Gain the wide crack and follow the disappearing crack system to a yellow, right-facing corner, continue up another wide crack to a ledge with four trees (5.8).

P4: Climb the left, sloping, dihedral undercling, then follow a ramp right to another ledge (5.9).

P5: Follow cracks to top (5.6).

This route climbs the knobby face between two large flakes. A tree 100 feet up provides a belay or rap station. Some webbing around the tree and two rap rings will take you down with a 70m, or continue up the rock for more trad climbing.

This route combines a few routes in the pink guidebook but is the free version of the aid climb "Humanitarian Aid".

Pitch 1, 5.9. Climb the large, right-facing corner to its top where you will make a committing move to the slab above. There are 2 bolts on this slab leading to the tree up and left. Clip the tat on the tree, and continue above to a rightward foot traverse on a dike. Make a few more moves up to the horizontal below the crux bulge. Build a gear anchor, and extend it long.

Pitch 2, a short pitch 5.11. Pull the bulge through the steep finger crack with bad feet. Follow the water groove above where the difficulty eases. Belay on the ledge above.

Pitch 3, 5.5. Climb the low angle fist crack to its end. Continue on slab to the top. There is a flake with gear out to the left.

Expect some runouts in the easier sections of climbing.

This is a fun hand crack through a series of roofs. It's a little mossy but still fun. Start on top of the large boulders on the NW face of The Dome. Look for the obvious, wide crack above a right-facing corner.

P1: Gain the obvious wide hand crack either by running out the slab or starting in the right-facing corner. Climb the bulging hand and fist crack and mossy face moves to a stance below the next roof (5.9).

P2: Climb the crack, going through two roofs, then traverse left to a ledge with four trees (5.9).

P3: Meets up with

NW Face

. Climb the left-sloping dihedral undercling then follow a ramp right to another ledge. Classic!(5.9).

P4: Follow cracks to summit (5.6).

This is a great left-facing corner just to the right of "

The Shield

". It is a nice climb to do after you walk off "The Dome" proper. The crack looks large, which it is, but through the crux you will have solid hand jams. If desired, you can continue up and right for a 5.5 second pitch, to the top of the feature, and then walk off to the right.

This is a super mellow multi-pitch up lower angle terrain. The route is characterized by short crack systems connected by short bolt-protected slab sections. With a 60m rope, you can link pitches 1 & 2 or 2 & 3. The third pitch brings you to the top of the pillar, right of the shield. From here, you can climb a forth pitch to the top of the dome.

P1. Follow a hand crack up and left past a couple of bolts to a bolt anchor just below a right-angling undercling.

P2. Continue up the obvious undercling crack, pull up onto a small stance, and then traverse up and right across an insecure but well-protected slab (crux) to a bolt anchor.

P3. Head straight up the slab from the belay, pull through a small roof, and clip a couple of bolts on your way up to the top of the pillar.

P4. This is an optional pitch to the top of the dome proper. Move belay 30' over to the top of the descent gully, next to a small pine tree. Head up the hand crack and past 3 more bolts to a chain anchor at the top of the dome.

Descent: rap back to the top of the pillar, and either descend the obvious gully down to the base of the shield or rap the route.
