This is a wide offwidth, topped by a flared hand crack. It's not very classic, but it will test your crack-climbing technique.

The name was given because of the weather on the day of the first ascent - eight inches of snow on the ground on the north side of the rock.

Picking Up The Pieces

This is a short crack, but it's a terrific one for testing your hand jamming technique.  The edge of the crack is rounded, so there is no easy alternative to jamming.  A few balancy step-ups take you to the base of the crack.  Jam up for a few fun moves, until you are in the wider, lower angle left-slanting part of the crack above.  Continue to the top of the rock, and a bolt anchor.  Rappel off.

Climb a thin vertical crack onto the west shoulder of Outhouse Rock. Follow the west shoulder to the summit of the formation.

This right-facing squeeze chimney has no protection until the exit move, where you could place a large cam.  However, it's quite secure, so you aren't likely to fall out.  Rappel from the top.

A long, easy, unprotected chimney leads up and right to a 15 long, crux face section.

When it's too cold to climb the east face, hike around the corner for this one.  Sunny and interesting with no crowds are the good things about it and very loose and grainy rock are the bad things...  An interesting exposed start leaves you looking down 40 feet of uprotected chimney before you set off into the loose flakes above.  The crux is reaching the horizontal crack midway up the climb.
